Women's Golf Places Sixth At GVSU

ALLENDALE, MICH. – The Northwood University women's golf team placed sixth at the Gilda's Club Laker fall invitational Sunday afternoon (September 27).

The two-day, 36-hole event was held at the Meadows golf club on the campus of Grand Valley State University. The course played at 6,065 yards as a par 72.

The Timberwolves shot team scores of 332 and 325 for a total of 657. Missouri – St. Louis was the overall winner at 6:10, while host Grand Valley State placed second at 617. A total of 13 teams took part in the event.

Marlies Klekner-Alt (Ottawa, Ont./E'Cole) led the way for Northwood, carding rounds of 75 and 85 to finish at 160. That was good for a tie for 17th overall. Playing in her first event for the team at Northwood, Kasey Harter (Millport, N.Y./Gannon) tied for 20th at 162 (84-78). A total of 76 players took part in the event.

Northwood will compete at the Ashland Invitational October 3-4.
