Women's Golf Places Fourth At Findlay - Beall Fall Classic
FINDLAY, OHIO – The Northwood University women's golf team placed fourth out of 16 teams at the Findlay - Beall Fall Classic Sunday and Monday (October 11-12).
The two-day, 36-hole event took place at the Findlay Country Club. The course played as a 6,007 yard, par 72.
Northwood opened the event with a team score of 310 in the first round, which tied them for the overall lead. NU slipped back to fourth place after a second round score of 333 to finish at 643. GVSU was the overall winner at 614 (310-304), followed by Findlay at 625 (317-308) and Ashland at 642 (313-329).
The Timberwolves were led by senior Marlies Klekner-Alt (Ottawa, Ont./E'Cole), who finished as NU's top performer in all four tournaments this fall. She carded rounds of 77 and 78 to finish with a total of 155. That total was good for eighth place. Junior Angel Chemas (Bogota, Colombia/Grand View) tied for 17th place (74-88), while Danielle Little (Battle Creek, Mich./Lakeview) tied for 29th (83-84). A total 95 players took part in the event.
Northwood has now completed the fall season.
