Women's Golf Finishes Eighth At Perry Park Spring Fling

PERRY PARK, KY. – The Northwood University women's golf team placed eighth out of 27 teams at the Perry Park Spring Fling Saturday and Sunday (March 19-20).

The two-day, 54-hole event was held on three different nine-hole courses at the Perry Park Golf Resort – Antlers, White Tail and Buckskin.

The Timberwolves shot team scores of 311-324-318 to finish at 953 overall. Grand Valley State was the overall winner at 896, followed by Indianapolis (907) and Southern Indiana (911).

Leading the way for Northwood was senior Marlies Klekner-Alt (Ottawa, Ont./E'Cole) and junior Angela Chemas (Bogota, Colombi /Grand View), both of whom finished at 235 overall. Klekner-Alt shot 79-76-80, while Chemas carded rounds of 75-82-78. Both players tied for 24th overall. Competing as an individual, Danielle Little (Battle Creek, Mich./Lakeview) tied for 32nd overall at 237 (78-78-81). A total of 150 players took part in the event.

Northwood will compete at the NC4K Classic April 3-4. The event will be hosted by Ohio Dominican University.
