Women's Golf Loses To Davenport In GLIAC Semifinals - Ines Dorado Scores Hole-In-One

INSIDE THE EVENT

  • Northwood faced off against Davenport using a medal match play format, meaning the teams five players will play 18 holes in one-on-one contests.  
  • In the first match, Northwood's Taylor Harding shot a strong round of 75 but fell to DU's Hannah Meloche, who carded a 73.
  • NU's Amelia Eriksen shot an 82 for Northwood in the second match, which matched her season-low score. Davenport's Frida Henningsson took the match, however, shooting a 75.
  • Northwood saw Ali Martus shoot 85 in the third match, falling to Davenport's Rachael Rier at 82.
  • Sydni Harding of the Timberwolves carded a 78 but fell to Jessica Niemiec's score of 76.
  • NU's win on the day came from Ines Dorado, who carded a career-best 71 to defeat Karlee Hallberg (77).
  • The highlight of the day for Northwood came from Dorado, who earned a hole-in-one on the par three second hole, her 11th the day. The hole measured at 141 yards.

NORTHWOOD NOTES

  • Northwood team score if it was a normal event would have been 306, which is one shot off the school record for an 18-hole team score.
  • Davenport's team score would have been 301, which is a school record for the Panthers.
  • Dorado's hole-in-one was the second in the history of the women's program, joining Emily Vergin. Vergin's hole-in-one also came at the GLIAC Championship (April 27, 2014).
