Sydni Harding Qualifies For NCAA Championships For The Second Time

RECAP: Sydni Harding qualifies for the NCAA Championships for the second time in her career with an eighth place finish at the NCAA DII East Regional Monday-Wednesday afternoon (May 2-5).
INSIDE THE EVENT
- Harding shot rounds of 74-76-75 in the event to finish with a nine-over par total of 225, good for eighth place overall.
- She reached the NCAA Championships by being one of the top three finishers from schools which did not reach the team portion of the championship.
- Indianapolis, Findlay and Grand Valley State qualified for the championship as teams.
- Harding finished second among individual qualifiers behind Emma Thorngren of Missouri-St. Louis, who is ranked as the No. 8 individual in Division II. Thorngren shot rounds of 72-78-71 to finish at 221 and place third.
- Alice Putoud of Tiffin was the third individual qualifier at 228 (77-75-76), good for 10th place.
- A total of 48 individuals took part in the event.
NORTHWOOD NOTES
- Harding is the first player in school history to reach the NCAA Championships twice. She was just the second player in school history to earn a spot in the event overall in 2019, joining Northwood Athletic Hall of Famer Jamie Long (2004).
