Ines Dorado Earns Trip To NCAA Championship As Women's Golf Finishes Seventh At East Regional

RECAP: Ines Dorado earns a spot in the NCAA Championships as women's golf uses strong final day to place seventh at the NCAA East Regional Monday-Wednesday (May 2-4).

INSIDE THE EVENT – TEAM RESULTS

  • NU carded rounds of 326-317-298 to finish at 941 overall.
  • Northwood stood in 10th place after both day one and day two, but their final round 298 tied for the second-best score of the day and allowed the Timberwolves to move up three spots to place seventh out of 15 teams.
  • Eighth-ranked Findlay finished first at 873 (292-290-291), followed by No. 11 Indianapolis (305-298-298) and Tiffin at 916 (307-306-303=916).
  • No. 20 Grand Valley State (921) and No. 32 Missouri-St. Louis (924) also earned bid to the NCAA Championships, as the top five teams at the event each earned invitations to the national championship.
  • A total of 15 teams took part in the event.

INSIDE THE EVENT – INDIVIDUAL RESULTS

  • The top two individual finishers who were not a part of the top-five teams earned individual bids to the NCAA Championship.
  • Ines Dorado carded rounds of 75-76-73 to finish at 223, good for a tie for ninth overall. That total tied her for second among non-qualifying team members with McKenna Montgomery of Lindenwood, forcing a playoff for the final spot in the championship.
  • After both players pared the first hole, Dorado followed with a second hole par, which won the playoff and sent her to the NCAA Championships.

OTHER TOP NU PERFORMERS

  • Sydni Harding: 82-78-73=233 – tied for 23rd
  • Tyler Kautz: 81-86-75=242 – tied for 41st
  • A total of 81 players competed in the event.

NORTHWOOD NOTES

  • Dorado is the third player in program history to earn a spot at the NCAA Championship, joining Jamie Long (2004) and Sydni Harding (2019, 2021).
