The Northwood University women's soccer team earned a 1-0 win over Notre Dame (OH) Friday afternoon (October 12).
The Timberwolves are now 5-6-1 overall, 5-3-1 in the GLIAC. Notre Dame falls to 3-9 overall, 2-6 in the GLIAC.
Northwood would score the lone goal of the contest late in the first half. Megan Murdoch (Dewitt, Mich.) took a good ball from Amanda Watson (Oregon, Ohio) just outside the box in the middle of the field. Murdoch then beat the keeper high to the right side of the keeper.
The Timberwolves finished the game with a 14-6 advantage in shots. Corners were in favor of Notre Dame 4-2. NU keeper Julie Shields (Berkley, Mich.) made three saves for her fourth career shutout.
Northwood will host Lake Erie Sunday (October 14). Match time is set for Noon.
