Women's Soccer Falls 5-0 To Ohio Dominican

MIDLAND, MICH. - The Northwood women's soccer team loses 5-0 to Ohio Dominican University Sunday afternoon (Sept. 20).

The Timberwolves are now 1-3-1 overall, 1-1 in the GLIAC. The Panthers improve to 3-3 on the year, 2-0 in the GLIAC.

Ohio Dominican got on the board early and often, netting four goals in the opening half. Junior Samantha Cook (South Lyon, Mich. / South Lyon East) recorded three saves in her first start of the year.

The Timberwolves played Ohio Dominican fairly evenly throughout the second half, with Northwood registering the only corner kicks of the period (four) and recording four shots. Senior keeper Julie Shields (Berkley, Mich. / Berkley) recorded five saves in the closing period, as the Timberwolves fell 5-0.

For the match, ODU out-shot NU (21-7), while Northwood held the advantage in corner kicks (5-2). The Timberwolves will travel to Ohio next weekend, taking on Ashland on Friday (Sept. 25) at 7 p.m. and Lake Erie at Noon on Sunday (Sept. 27.)
