Women's Soccer Earns 2-1 Double Overtime Win Over Alderson Broaddus

RECAP: Northwood gave new head coach Chelsea Hunter a win in her first career game, with a 2-1 double overtime win against Alderson Broaddus Friday afternoon (August 31).

GAME HIGHLIGHTS

  • After carrying the play, Northwood broke through with a goal in the 16th minute. Transfer Katelyn Wilkowski beat the keeper after a spin move to put the Timberwolves up 1-0.
  • The Timberwolves had numerous chances to extend their lead before halftime but the score remained 1-0 at the break. NU held a 13-3 edge in shots and a 2-1 advantage in corner kicks in the opening 45 minutes.
  • Northwood continued to control the play until ABU came up with an equalizer off a rebound in the 77th minute. Prior to that goal, Northwood held a 23-5 edge in shots.
  • Once it got to overtime, neither team produced much offensively until the game winner. Off a loose ball in the area, Ashton Brooks found the back of the net to give the Timberwolves the win.
