RECAP: The Timberwolves scored a late equalizer but couldn't see the game into extra time and surrendered a last minute winner to fall 3-2 at Purdue Northwest.

GAME HIGHLIGHTS

  • The game was wide open throughout the first half with both teams tallying their share of shots on goal throughout the first stanza.

  • The Timberwolves were the first to find the back of the net as Talene Nercessian was able to corral a loose ball in front of goal and find the back of the net in the 23rd minute.

  • The Pride, however, were able to find the equalizer just three minutes later.  Andrea Everett was able to save the first attempt on goal, but couldn't do anything about the rebounded effort as Brook Switzer leveled the score at 1-1.

  • The scoring wasn't done for the half.  In the 30th minute it would be the Pride again as Sydney Hanson laid a ball off inside the 18 for Cam Rassbach whose shot found the top right corner to make the score 2-1.  The score would hold through the rest of the half.

  • In the second half it was all Timberwolves as the guests held an 11-3 advantage in shots and a 4-0 advantage in corners throughout the second period.

  • Northwood nearly broke through with the equalizer when Christina Medici headed down a Jessie Piper corner, but a save by Halle Stork and a goal line clearance kept the score at 2-1 in favor of the hosts.

  • The Timberwolves' equalizer finally came right at the 85 minute mark as Jessie Piper controlled a loose ball in the box and volleyed a shot into the top right corner to make the score 2-2.

  • Just when it looked like the match would be headed into extra time the Pride found the net once more as Kiana Chandler chipped a ball over Everett and into the top left corner to net the winner and make the score 3-2 in the 89th minute.
