RECAP: Thanks to a strong second half, Northwood opened the 2019 season with a 2-0 road win over Purdue Northwest Friday afternoon (March 19).

GAME HIGHLIGHTS

  • The start of the game was uneventful – the first shot of the contest did not occur until nearly 16 minutes in.
  • Northwood grew into the game – after not having a shot for the opening 19 minutes, the Timberwolves had six the remainder of the opening 45 minutes.

  • Northwood got on the board at the 54:19 mark thanks to sophomore Juliana Paoletti. She found the back of the net from inside the area off a feed from Jessica Piper to give the Timberwolves a 1-0 lead.
  • The score remained that way until the 77:28 mark when Piper doubled the Northwood lead. She took a feed from Emilie Pechette and finished from close range, making the score 2-0.
