RECAP: Northwood women's soccer picks up a 2-1 win in their home opener Saturday afternoon (April 3).

GAME HIGHLIGHTS

  • Northwood got on the board first in the ninth minute after Jessica Piper was fouled in the area, drawing a penalty. Savannah Wallace calmly buried the PK for her first career goal to give the Timberwolves a 1-0 lead.
  • Davenport drew level in the 20 minute with a goal to make the score 1-1.
  • The score remained that way through the end of the first half. Northwood held a 7-5 edge in shots and a had the only corner kick of the half.
  • The Timberwolves netted the game-winner at the 63:27 mark. Juliana Paoletti took a long feed from Emilie Pechette and beat the keeper in the area. It was Paoletti's third goal in three games for Northwood this season
