GAME HIGHLIGHTS

  • Northwood was the better team in the opening half but the contest remained scoreless at the break. NU nearly broke through late on an Abigail Fowler free kick that hit the crossbar.  The Timberwolves ended the opening half with a 6-3 edge in shots and a 6-2 advantage in corner kicks.
  • The Timberwolves took control of the game in the second half and took the lead less than five minutes in. Jessica Piper netted her first goal of the season on a pass from Katie Foster to make the score 1-0.
  • Less than a minute later, the Timberwolves made it 2-0. Foster this time found Juliana Paoletti for her second goal of the season at 50:10.
  • NU extended their advantage to 3-0 at 60:08 on Piper's second goal of the day.
  • Savannah Wallace then converted from the spot on a penalty that pushed the advantage to 4-0.
  • Northwood rounded out the scoring at 68:28 thanks to the first career goal for junior Peyton Starner. Fowler picked up the assist on the fifth and final goal for the Timberwolves.
