RECAP: Northwood earns 5-1 victory over Purdue Northwest on Sunday afternoon. (October 17).

GAME HIGHLIGHTS

  • Jessica Piper got the Timberwolves rolling in the 22nd minute, capitalizing on a breakaway to put Northwood up 1-0.
  • Piper was the key part of the second goal of the game as well. Late in the first half, her shot down the left side of the area was saved by the goalie but deflected in by the defender. The own goal made the score 2-0 advantage going into the break, also holding the 9-4 edge in shots.
  • In the 56th minute of the contest, Northwood extended their lead to 3-0. A Jillian Hon header found Abigail Fowler wide open in the box for her fifth goal of the season.
  • The Timberwolves got on the board once again thanks to a Rilyn Ross goal in the 68th minute, giving Northwood the 4-0 lead. Riley Rajewski picked up the assist on the goal.
  • The Pride got on the board just one minute later to cut into the NU lead and put the score at 4-1.  
  • Josie Nash rounded out the scoring in the 86th minute to make the final score 5-1.
