RECAP: Sixth-seeded Northwood Women's soccer dropped a tough 1-0 overtime contest at third-seeded Saginaw Valley in the GLIAC Tournament Quarterfinals Tuesday afternoon (November 9).

GAME HIGHLIGHTS

  • Northwood nearly took the lead right at the start of the game, earning a breakaway just over a minute into the game. But the opportunity was denied by SVSU keeper Olivia Argeros.
  • The game remained scoreless at the break. SVSU held a 9-5 edge in shots and a 1-0 advantage in corners in the first half.
  • While both teams had chances in the second half, the story of the half was the defense as the game remained scoreless at the end of regulation. The two teams combined for just eight shots in the second half (SVSU 5, Northwood 3). Both teams had three corners after the break.

NORTHWOOD NOTES
