An Early Offensive Explosion Leads To a 5-2 Victory For Women's Soccer

RECAP: The Northwood women's soccer team won their second Great Midwest Athletic Conference game versus Ohio Dominican Wednesday (September 17). The offense exploded in the first eleven minutes scoring four goals, leading to a 5-2 victory.

GAME HIGHLIGHTS

  • A shot by Juliana Paoletti in the second minute would be saved by ODU's goalie, but the ball would dribble across the goal and onto the right foot of Brooke Honeycutt for NU's first goal of the day, 1-0 NU.
  • Paoletti would not leave the game without a goal either, sitting at 49 career points after her assist. Paoletti scored career points 50 and 51 with a goal less than two minutes later, 2-0 NU.
  • Abbie Fowler would score her first of the game assisted by Carly Boyd six minutes later, 3-0 NU.  
  • Savannah Wallace's corner kick in the 11' would end up being kicked into the goal by Stephanie O'Keefe within the mass of people near the goal, 4-0.
  • Northwood's pace of play would slow as both teams would sub players. Fowler's next goal came as she headed in a cross from Boyd in the 37', 5-0 NU. Boyd would be credited with her third assist of the game.
  • Ohio Dominican would score two goals following the explosion. One in the 42' and another in the 49', 5-2 NU
