RECAP: Northwood women's soccer earns a hard-fought victory over Tiffin at home Saturday (October 8).

GAME HIGHLIGHTS

The Timberwolves started the game strong, scoring in the fifth minute of the contest. The cross by Brooke Honeycutt was headed into the back of the net by Stephanie O'Keefe for the early 1-0 Timberwolf lead.
Northwood had a number of good chances in the opening minutes of the game but were unable to expand the lead.
Tiffin earned a penalty in the 29th minute, but Andrea Everett stepped up and made the save. Northwood was unable to clear the ball away, however, as the Dragons eventually found the back of the net moments later to level the score.
Carly Boyd's free kick goal in the 36th minute connected with Abbie Fowler in the box as she headed the ball over the Tiffin goalie to give the Timberwolves the lead.
NU took their 2-1 advantage into the break while outshooting TU 9-2.
The Dragons evened the score in the 51^st minute. A handball in the box preventing a goal scoring opportunity for Tiffin resulted in a red card on Northwood defender Isabel Anderson. The Dragons converted their penalty kick to tie the game 2-2. The Timberwolves were then forced to play the remainder of the contest with ten players.
Despite being down a player, the Timberwolves regained their lead in the 58th minute. A Honeycutt goal put the score at 3-2, assisted by Juliana Paoletti.
Fowler added her second goal of the game with a long-range shot chipped over the keeper in the 78th minute of the contest, extending the NU lead to 4-2.
That would prove to be the final goal of the contest.
