Women’s Soccer Earns G-MAC Road Win At Kentucky Wesleyan

RECAP: The Northwood women's soccer team began their two-match road trip with a victory over Kentucky Wesleyan on Thursday (September 21). The Timberwolves would win 2-1 behind two players earning first career goals.

GAME HIGHLIGHTS

• Northwood's offense applied the pressure early and often, earning seven of the match's first eight shots before a Kentucky Wesleyan tripping foul in the box on Mari Jackson earned Hannah Jatczak a penalty kick. Jatczak would put the Timberwolves out in front with her first career goal in the 30'.
• Going into the half Northwood controlled possession of most of the half, including a 15-3 shots advantage and a 4-0 corner kick advantage.
• The Timberwolves looked to add to their lead coming out of the half. Three minutes in, Jackson got her second chance for her first career goal. Katie Foster's header from the left side of the box gave her just enough time to knock it into the top left corner past an outstretched Wesleyan goalie.
• In control 2-0, Northwood's defense continued to play hard, but the Panthers would capitalize on a small hole, cutting the deficit to one in the 76'.
• NU would go on to stave off the Panthers, allowing just one other shot from KWC the rest of the match.
