RECAP: Women's soccer earned its ninth win of the season on Thursday (October 12) at Ohio Dominican. This marks the first time in NU history that the program has won at least nine matches in three straight seasons. Two great passes and a late goal proved to be the difference in the match.

GAME HIGHLIGHTS

  • Northwood's crisp passing enabled them to jump out to a 1-0 lead in the 15'. Carly Boyd was the benefactor of a beautiful cross from Brooke Honeycutt just past midfield. Honeycutt lofted the pass nearly 25 yards and to a perfect spot as Boyd was crashing the goal near the right post.
  • Northwood and ODU would go into the half tied in both shots (6-6) and corners (2-2). Although Northwood's Lindsay Jacob collected four saves to keep another opponent off the board for the nine straight half.
  • ODU would be the first team to score on the Northwood defense in nearly 10 halves of soccer as the Panthers capitalized on a corner. The Panther player won the cross as they headed in the equalizer in the 75'.
  • The match felt like it was going to come to a draw just before Reagan Brengman came up huge for the Timberwolves in the 87'. Her teammate Boyd would return the favor she received earlier in the match. A soft pass to Brengman just outside the 18-yard box gave her just enough of a crease to shoot a laser into the upper left corner over a mass of people to give Northwood the lead for good.
  • Northwood would finish the match for their fifth straight victory and ninth over the last 10 matches.
