Women's Tennis Competes At The ITA Regional

ALLENDALE, MICH. - The Northwood University women's tennis team competed at the ITA Regional Championship Friday-Sunday (Sept. 26-28).

The lone individual event of the year for the Timberwolves, the event features tournament play in singles and doubles.

The top performance of the weekend went to the doubles team of Alisa Reshetnikova and Anastasia Puchkina. The duo was seeded sixth coming into the event, but picked up three wins to reach the semifinals of the event. Their run came to an end with a loss to the No. 2 seeded team from Michigan Tech.

Reshetnikova also turned in the team's best result in the main singles draw. Seeded eighth, she reached the quarterfinals with three straight-set wins. Reshetnikova lost in the semifinals to the No. 1 seed.

Northwood will return to team play this week with three home matches. The first of which is Thursday (October 2) against Ashland. First serve is set for 2 p.m.
