Women's Tennis Sweeps Ohio Dominican 9-0
MIDLAND, MICH. - The Northwood University women's tennis team swept Ohio Dominican 9-0 Saturday afternoon (October 4).
Due to inclement weather, the match was played at the Midland Community Tennis Center.
Northwood is now 8-0 overall and in the GLIAC. Ohio Dominican drops to 6-3 overall, 6-2 in the GLIAC.
The Timberwolves came out strong with three wins in doubles, dropping just seven games in the match to take a 3-0 lead to singles competition.
In singles, northwood freshman Oleisa Riabchuk (Kaluga, Russia) didn't drop a single game at the three position 6-0, 6-0. Freshman Alisa Reshetnikova (Izhevsk, Russia) earned a 6-0, 6-1 win at the No. 1 slot, while Anna Aniskina (Odesa, Ukraine) was victorious at the fifth position with a 6-3, 6-1 win.
Northwood travels to Wayne State on Wednesday afternoon (October 8). Match time is set for 1 p.m.
