Women's Tennis Falls To Grand Valley State 5-2 In The GLIAC Semfinals

MIDLAND, MICH. – The Northwood University women's tennis team dropped a 5-2 contest to Grand Valley State in the GLIAC Tournament Semifinals Saturday evening (October 25).

GVSU avenges a 6-3 loss to Northwood in the regular season. Both teams now stand at 12-2 overall.

NU, which has battled injuries for much of the season, fell behind 2-1 after doubles. The Lakers won matches at the No. 2 and No. 3 positions.

Northwood was only able to win one match in singles, thanks to the efforts of senior Anastasia Puchkina. She earned a 7-6, 6-4 win at the No. 2 position. Puchkina posted a 2-0 record on the day.

The Timberwolves will face Tiffin in the third place match Sunday morning (October 26). First serve is set for 8:15 a.m.
