Women's Tennis Clinches Share Of GLIAC Championship With 9-0 Win Over SVSU

MIDLAND, MICH. – The Northwood University women's tennis team earned a share of the GLIAC Championship with a 9-0 win over Saginaw Valley State Saturday afternoon (October 17).

Northwood, which has now won GLIAC Championships in 12 of the last 15 seasons, is now 10-1 overall and in the GLIAC. SVSU finishes the regular season 5-5 overall and in the GLIAC.

On the day, Carol Arnez-Mercado, Alisa Reshetnikova, Olesia Riabchuk and Anastasiia Kazub all went 2-0 to lead the way for the Timberwolves.

In GLIAC play this season, the Timberwolves ended up going 50-11 in singles (.820) and 27-6 in doubles (.818).

Northwood will be the No. 2 seed in the upcoming GLIAC Tournament, which will take place in Midland October 23-25).
