Women's Tennis Defeats George Mason 6-1

HILTON HEAD, S.C. – The Northwood University women's tennis team picked up a 6-1 victory over George Mason Monday night (March 7).

Northwood, which was playing in its first match of the spring season, is now 14-1 overall on the year. George Mason, who competes at the Division I level, falls to 1-8.

The match was played with Division I rules, which meant the three doubles matches were played to six games and were worth one point overall. Northwood won all three matches to go up 1-0 heading into singles. The Timberwolves then posted five wins in six singles matches to close out the match.

On the day, Carol Arnez-Mercado, Olesia Riabchuk, Anastasiia Kazub and Anna Aniskina went 2-0 for the Timberwolves.

Northwood will take on Tusculum Tuesday morning (March 8). First serve is set for 8 a.m.
