INSIDE THE MATCH

  • For the third straight day Northwood entered the match without their top player, Carol Arnez-Mercado. She plays No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles for the Timberwolves.
  • Doubles was vital in the win, as the Timberwolves took all three matches to earn a 3-0 advantage heading into singles.
  • The Timberwolves then forfeited the five and six singles matches and then had to retire at No. 3 singles, giving Maryville three points.
  • But Northwood won all three singles matches completed, picking up wins at the No. 1, No. 2 and No. 4 positions to claim the victory.
