Women's Tennis Clinches Share Of GLIAC Championship With 6-1 Win Over Ferris State

RECAP: Northwood clinches a share of the GLIAC Championship with a 6-1 win over Ferris State Saturday afternoon (October 20).

  • Northwood swept the doubles for the seventh time in eight matches, dropping a total of seven games in three sets contested.  
  • The Timberwolves went on to win five of the six singles matches contested, winning in straight-sets at the top five positions.

  • Northwood enters the final day of the regular season at 8-0 overall, with Grand Valley State at 7-1. The two teams will play each other Sunday, with the winner earning the No. 1 seed in the upcoming GLIAC Tournament.
  • The title is the 14th for the Northwood women's tennis team since 2001.
  • Northwood head coach Zane Colestock has now won a total of 36 GLIAC Championships in his career (22 men, 14 women)
  • After today's result, Northwood is now 44-4 in singles and 23-1 in doubles on the season.
