RECAP: A key injury in doubles slows down Northwood in a 6-1 loss to Grand Valley State Sunday afternoon (October 21).

INSIDE THE MATCH

  • Grand Valley State earned the doubles point with wins in two of the three matches. Northwood came out on top at the No. 1 position 6-1, while GVSU won 6-1 at the No. 3 slot. GVSU got the point thanks to winning by injury retirement in the No. 2 match.
  • Without Northwood's No. 3 player, Kate Berestovenko, the Timberwolves were forced to shift their lineup up one slot from the third position through the sixth slot.
  • GVSU was the better team in singels, winning five of the six matches.
