Indoor Track & Field Teams Travel To Mike Lints Alumni Open

ALLENDALE, MICH. – The Northwood University indoor track and field teams traveled to the Mike Lints Alumni Open at Grand Valley State University on Saturday (January 30).

The women's team placed 11th overall with 17 points. Grand Valley State was the overall winner with 184 points, Lewis followed with 71.83 points. Kara Young (Zephyrhills, Fla. / Zephyrhills) finished third in the 60 meter dash with a time of 7.88, while Elaina Meadows (Schoolcraft, Mich. / Schoolcraft) followed in fourth at 7.90. With a time of 9.73, Madison Arnouts (Grand Ledge, Mich. / Grand Ledge) finished eighth in the 60 meter hurdles. The women's 4x400 meter relay team was 0.2 off a school record with a time of 3:59.78 to finish fourth.

Grand Valley State also took first place on the men's side with a team score of 134 points, while Indiana Tech followed with 88. Northwood finished 15th with nine points. Paul Evans (Lenox, Mich. / New Haven) finished seventh and threw the weight 17.63 meters for an NCAA Provisional qualifying mark. Tray Thompson (Fort Worth, Tx. / Duncanville) ran 49.35 to finish fifth in the 400 meter dash. The men's 4x400 meter relay team clocked 3:23.30 to finish sixth.

The Timberwolves will travel down the road to University Center, Mich. to compete in the SVSU/NU Dual Meet on February 5.
