Volleyball Drops 3-0 Match At Ferris State

The Northwood University volleyball team dropped its first GLIAC match of the season Saturday afternoon (November 10), falling at Ferris State 3-0.  Set scores were 25-20, 25-16, 25-19.

Despite the loss, Northwood is the overall GLIAC Champion and the number one seed in the upcoming GLIAC Tournament.

NU finishes the regular season 23-6 overall, 17-1 in the GLIAC.  Ferris State improves to 23-6 overall, 16-2 in the GLIAC.

The story of the match was Ferris State's offense.  The Bulldogs hit .327 overall, finishing with 42 kills and just eight errors on 104 attempts.  Northwood finished at .115 overall, totaling 37 kills and 23 errors on 122 attempts.

Two Timberwolves finished with double-figure kill totals, led by Juliia Pakhomenko (Donetsk, Ukraine) with 12.  Tatjana Rajic (Belgrade, Serbia) added 10 kills while hitting .368 (10-3-19).

Northwood will host the opening round of the GLIAC Tournament Wednesday night (November 14) against an opponent to be determined at 7 p.m.  If the Timberwolves win, they will host the GLIAC Tournament Semifinals and Finals Saturday and Sunday (November 17-18).
