AURORA, ILL. – The Northwood University volleyball team dropped a 3-0 match to Illinois-Springfield Saturday afternoon (October 18). Set scores were 25-21, 25-17, 25-13.
The match was a part of the Mizuno GLIAC/GLVC Challenge. Northwood falls to 6-12 overall with the loss. Illinois-Springfield improves to 7-12 with the win.
Springfield finished the match with a .304 attack percentage (35-11-79) while holding Northwood to a .052 clip (29-24-96). Blocking was a big to the match for the Prairie Stars, as the finished with 12.0 blocks compared to two for Northwood.
Meghan Cleary (Howell, Mich./Farmington Hills Mercy) and Allison Getty (Wayland, Mich.) each had seven kills to lead Northwood. Cassandra Marsh (Maumee, Ohio) had five kills while hitting .308 (5-1-13).
Northwood will travel to Wayne State Friday night (October 10). First serve is set for 7 p.m.
