BIG RAPIDS, MICH. – The Northwood University volleyball team dropped a 3-0 match at No. 5 Ferris State Saturday (November 7). Set scores were 25-9, 25-7, 25-15.
Northwood is now 11-16 overall, 7-9 in the GLIAC. Ferris State improves to 26-2 overall, 15-1 in the GLIAC.
The offenses for the team teams told the story of the match. Northwood hit negative in all three sets, finishing the sets with marks of -.029, -.172 and -.061. Meanwhile, the Bulldogs hit above .324 in all three sets (.464, .438, .324).
For the match, Northwood ended up with a -.080 attack percentage (16-25-112). Ferris State finished at .402 (43-4-97). Blocking was also a big part of the match, as the Bulldogs ended up with an 8-0 edge.
Leading the way for Northwood was Colleen Mayer (Troy, Mich./Avondale), who ended up with four kills.
