Volleyball Places Three On All-GLIAC Teams

2017 All-GLIAC Volleyball Teams

MIDLAND, MICH. – The Northwood University volleyball team placed a trio of seniors on the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) All-League teams.

Outside hitter Allison Getty (Wayland, Mich.) and middle blocker Sydney Greulich (Kitchener, Ontario/St. Mary's) each were named Second Team All-GLIAC. Setter Hailey Jones (Ada, Mich./Forest Hills Northern) was named Honorable Mention All-GLIAC.

Getty was one of the most consistent performers for the Timberwolves over the course of her career, finishing first or second on the team in kills and points all four seasons. She is one of just four players in school history to reach 1,100 kills and 1,100 digs in her career, totaling 1,130 kills and 1,178 digs. Getty had her best defensive season of her career this year, setting career-highs in both digs (405) and blocks (34).

Greulich had a breakthrough senior season that saw her register career-highs across the board. She led the team in points (3.5 per set) as well as blocks (.9 per set) and attack percentage (.289).  Those numbers were good for ranking her in the top-15 in the GLIAC in all three categories.  Greulich finished her career with 705 kills and 254 blocks.

Jones spent three seasons as Northwood's top setter. This season, she set career-highs in assists per set (10.27), digs per set (2.79) and points (72). Her 10.27 assists per set ranked her fourth in the GLIAC this season. Jones ended up with 2,641 assists and 678 digs in her career at Northwood.

The Timberwolves finished the season with a 14-13 overall record.
