Volleyball Places Three On All-GLIAC Teams

MIDLAND, MICH. – The Northwood University volleyball team placed three on the All-GLIAC volleyball teams, the league announced Thursday night (April 8).

Senior middle blocker Mary Gallagher earned First Team All-GLIAC. Junior setter Macy Lintz claimed Second Team, while senior outside hitter Mackenzie Kepler was Honorable Mention.

Gallagher posted a breakthrough senior season for the Timberwolves, finishing the season ranked third in the GLIAC in hitting percentage (.339). She also ranked 14th in the conference in blocks per set (0.76). Gallagher set career-highs in all statistical categories this season.

Lintz led the Northwood offense to a huge improvement this spring. She ranks second in the conference in assists per set (11.00). That total is 1.26 kills higher per game than her previous career-best.  Lintz also averaged 2.22 digs per set. She finished the regular season with 17 kills, 19 block and 495 assists.

Kepler also had her best season at Northwood this season, currently standing with career-bests in kills (2.71 per set), digs (3.16 per set) and points (3.0 per set). She ranks second on the team in kills, third in digs and second in points this season.

Northwood took a major step forward this season. One year after going 5-22, the Timberwolves went 8-4 this spring. NU is the fifth seed in the GLIAC Tournament – they will face fourth-seeded Ferris State Friday (April 5) at 4 p.m. The event is taking place at Saginaw Valley State University.
