RECAP: Northwood Volleyball dropped a 3-0 match at Wayne State Saturday afternoon (September 18).

INSIDE THE MATCH

  • In the opening set, the score was tied 7-7 when Wayne State took over. WSU scored five straight points and did not allow NU to get any closer than three the rest of the way in Wayne State's 25-15 win. The Warriors played a clean opening set offensively, finishing with 12 kills and one error on 37 attempts (.297). NU finished at .025 (11-10-40).
  • WSU kept the momentum going immediately in the second set, scoring six of the first seven points. The Warriors held leads of 12-3 and 17-7 before taking the set 25-13. Wayne State had a big hitting set in the second, ending with a .389 attack percentage (18-4-36). Northwood hit .036 in the second (7-6-28).
  • The third set was much closer, as the biggest lead for either team was three points. Northwood was up 12-9 before the Warriors made a run to go up 18-16. The Timberwolves had their best hitting set of the match in the third, finishing at .312 (16-6-32). WSU ended at .294 (13-3-34).
