Volleyball Drops 3-1 Match To Parkside

OVERVIEW – PARKSIDE  

SCORE: Parkside Rangers 3, Northwood Timberwolves 1 (19-25, 25-17, 25-19, 25-21)

RECAP: Volleyball falls to Wisconsin Parkside 3-1 at home Saturday afternoon (October 9).

INSIDE THE MATCH 

  • The opening set saw even play from both teams, with the score tied at 8-8. The match remained tight until Northwood put together a run to go on top 17-12. The Timberwolves were able to hold onto the lead, eventually taking the opening set 25-18. Northwood hit .208 (10-5-24) to Parkside's -.125 (7-10-24).  
  • The Rangers responded in the second set, jumping out to a 14-9 lead after a competitive start. Parkside remained in top for the rest of the set, going on to win 25-17. The Parkside offense jumped up to .344 (15-4-32) in the set while the Timberwolves fell back to .074 (8-6-27).
  • The Rangers kept the momentum in the third, holding advantages of 5-2, 13-7, and 18-12. A 5-1 Timberwolf run made the score 19-17, but it wasn't enough as the Rangers went on to take the third set 25-19. The Rangers hit .200 (11-5-30) compared to the Timberwolves' .029 (12-11-34).
  • Once again, Parkside held the advantage in the beginning of the third set. The Rangers led 11-6 and extended it to 21-15. Northwood kept it competitive, going on a 5-0 run to put the score within one. Parkside was able to hold on and win the set 25–21 to take the match 3-1. The Rangers hit .167 (10-4-36) while the Timberwolves hit .167 (16-9-42).
