RECAP: Volleyball dropped a 3-0 match at Davenport Friday night (October 22).

INSIDE THE MATCH

  • The start of the match saw the Panthers open up a 7-5 lead when DU went on a big push. Davenport scored 10 of the next 12 points to go up 15-7. Northwood got no closer than six the rest of the way in the Panthers' 25-16.  DU had a big set offensively, hitting .500 (16-2-28). Northwood finished the opener at .038 (9-8-26).
  • Davenport kept the momentum going into the second set, scoring six of the first seven points for an early 6-1 edge. With the DU lead standing at 11-8, the Panthers score four straight to jump out to a 15-8 lead. They eventually scored the final four points of the set to win 25-15 for a 2-0 lead. Davenport continued their strong offensive attack in the second, once again hitting .500 (12-2-20). NU ended the second at .000 (8-8-24).
  • Northwood played better in the third, getting out to a 10-7 lead early. DU responded with four of the next five points to level the score at 11-11. The Timberwolves went back on top at 14-12 when the Panthers made the final push of the match. Davenport scored four straight and nine of next 12 points to go up 21-17. NU fought back to get within one at 24-23 before the Panthers closed out the match. DU fell back to .190 on offense in the third (12-4-42). Northwood finished the final set hitting .068 (13-10-44).
