Volleyball Loses At Grand Valley State 3-1
OVERVIEW – GRAND VALLEY STATE

INSIDE THE MATCH
- The Timberwolves started the match strong, opening up an 8-3 lead early on. Grand Valley State fought back and got within one at 11-10, but were never able to tie the score. NU eventually took the opening set 25-21. Northwood had a strong set on offense in the opening set, hitting .359 (18-4-39). GVSU ended the set hitting .219 (9-2-32).
- Northwood also held the early lead in the second set, going up 8-5 and 16-12. That is when Grand Valley State took over, scoring 12 of the next 13 point to go up 24-17 on their way to a 25-17 win to level the match. The Lakers jumped up to hitting .370 in the second (12-2-27), compared to the Timberwolves at .129 (11-7-31).
- Grand Valley State slowly built the lead in the third early on, never score more than three points in a row until the end while building a 21-14 lead. The Lakers then registered the final four points of the set to win 25-14 to go up 2-1. GVSU continued to show a strong offense in the third, ending with no errors while hitting .379. NU was held to a .000 mark in the set (9-9-36).
- The Lakers jumped out to a 6-2 lead early in the fourth. NU got back within two at 14-12, only to see GVSU score seven of the next nine points to take a 21-14 lead. The Lakers eventually took the set 25-17 and the match 3-1. Northwood ended the final set at .051 (8-6-39) while Grand Valley State hit .263 (13-3-38).
