Volleyball Earns 3-0 Senior Day Sweep Over Lake Superior State

RECAP: Northwood Volleyball earns a 3-0 sweep on senior day over Lake Superior State Saturday afternoon (November 13).
INSIDE THE MATCH
- The start of the match was evenly played, as the score was tied 17-17 with the largest lead for either team being three points. NU had a pair of match points with the score 24-22, only to see the Lakers put up two straight points. Northwood got a pair of kills at that point to close out the opener 26-24. Both teams were solid on offense in the opening set – NU hit .303 (17-7-33) while LSSU finished at .207 (11-5-29)
- LSSU got out to a 12-9 early in the second set, only to see Northwood score five of the next six points to go on top 14-13. NU made a big final push after the score was tied 19-19, earning the final six points to win 25-19 to go up 2-0. The Timberwolves offense hit nearly the exact same percentage in the second, ending at .306 (15-4-36). LSSU fell back to .108 (11-7-37).
- The Lakers scored the first three points of the third set and eventually held leads of 13-9 and 15-11. After a timeout, the Timberwolves took over, scoring four straight and 10 of the next 11 to take a 21-16 lead on their way to a sweep at 25-19. Northwood jumped up to hit .480 in the final set (15-3-25). The Lakers finished at .115 (8-5-26).
