Volleyball Remains Unbeaten In The GMAC With 3-0 Sweep Over Ohio Dominican

RECAP:  Northwood Volleyball extends its winning streak to six matches with a 3-0 win over Ohio Dominican Friday night (September 23).

INSIDE THE MATCH

  • The opening set was evenly-played throughout – the largest advantage for either team was an Ohio Dominican 16-12 lead. Northwood responded with a big run, putting up 10 of the next 13 points to take their biggest lead of the set at 22-19. The Panthers came right back with four straight points to go on top 23-22. Northwood was the better team late in the first, claiming three of the final four points for a 26-24 set victory.
  • A late NU push in the second broke open a close set. Northwood led 15-14 when the Timberwolves put up four straight points to go up 19-14. ODU got no closer than four points the rest of the way, as Northwood went on to a 25-18 set win and a 2-0 advantage in the match.
  • Much like the second set, the Timberwolves broke open a close set to earn the sweep. With the scored tied 11-11, Northwood claimed five straight points to go up 16-11. NU eventually scored 11 of the next 12 points to lead 22-12 on their way to a 25-15 win.
