RECAP: Northwood Volleyball dropped a 3-1 match at No. 22 Hillsdale Tuesday (September 27).

INSIDE THE MATCH

Hillsdale dominated the opening set from the start. With HC leading 4-2, the Chargers put up 12 straight points to go up 14-2. Northwood got no closer than 11 the rest of the set as Hillsdale eventually earned the win 25-7.
The Chargers got off to a good start in the second as well, taking an 8-3 lead. Northwood trailed 16-10 when the Timberwolves made a push, scoring seven of the next eight points to tie the score 17-17. Later, Northwood used a 6-1 run to earn a set point at 24-20. HC responded, holding off a total of five set points with a 5-1 run that leveled the scored again at 25-25. The Timberwolves bounced back with the final two points to take the set 27-25 to level the overall match at 1-1.
Set three was evenly-played early on – the first four-point lead of the set came when Hillsdale went up 13-9. After the Chargers led 16-14, HC scored two straight points to earn a four point lead. The two teams then alternated the next 12 points which got Hillsdale to set point at 24-20. HC took that final point to win the third 25-20 for a 2-1 lead.
In set four, Northwood led 12-10 when the Chargers went on a run, scoring five straight to go up 15-12. The Timberwolves responded with a run of their own, putting up six of the next eight points to go up 18-17. The score was eventually tied 20-20, Hillsdale finished the set strong, scoring five of the final seven points to take the set 25-22 and the match 3-1.
