Volleyball Finishes Crossover With 3-0 Loss To Rockhurst

SCORE: Rockhurst Hawks 3, Northwood Timberwolves 0 (25-20, 25-22, 26-24)

RECAP:  Northwood Volleyball play three competitive sets, but falls 3-0 to Rockhurst to complete the Midwest Crossover Saturday afternoon (October 15).

INSIDE THE MATCH

  • The beginning and the end of the opening set led the Hawks to a 1-0 lead. The Hakes put up the first four points, thanks to three aces for the early advantage. Northwood fought back to eventually tie the set at 19-19. But Rockhurst responded late with a four straight points and six of the final seven points overall to take the set 25-20.
  • Set two was close throughout – the largest lead for either side was three points. Northwood was in a good spot to level the match late, holding a 21-19 lead. Much like the opening set, the Hawks stepped up late to earn the win. RC once again ended the set scoring six of the final set earning six of the final seven points for a 25-22 win and a 2-0 lead.
  • Rockhurst broke open a lose set with the Hawks leading the third 15-14. RC scored five of the next six points to take a 20-15 advantage. With the Hawks leading 24-20 and one point away from the sweep, it was Northwood's turn to make a late run. The Timberwolves held off four match points to level the score at 24-24. Rockhurst responded, however, claiming the final two points to close out the match 26-24.
