Volleyball Falls In Dramatic 3-2 Match To Hillsdale
OVERVIEW – HILLSDALE
SCORE: Hillsdale Chargers 3, Northwood Timberwolves 2 (28-26, 25-17, 24-26, 21-25, 15-12)
RECORDS: Northwood (11-12, 5-5 GMAC), Hillsdale (18-6, 10-2 GMAC)

INSIDE THE MATCH
- The beginning of the opening set featured strong play from the Timberwolves as they jumped out to an 11-6 advantage. Northwood held onto their lead through most of the set, extending their advantage to 17-10. The Chargers then used a 10-3 run to even the score at 20-20. Both teams exchanged small runs before Hillsdale claimed the 28-26 win.
- The Charger momentum continued in the second set, leading 5-2 early on. Hillsdale held a comfortable lead throughout the set. The Chargers led 14-6 when a 9-2 Timberwolf run made the score 16-15. Hillsdale ended the set scoring nine of the last eleven points to take the second set 25-17.
- The third set was evenly played to start as the score was tied at 9-9 early on. Small runs by both teams saw the score tied again at 15-15. Neither team led by more than one point until Hillsdale gained the 21-19 edge. NU then put together a nice 5-1 run to reclaim the lead at 24-22. Hillsdale continued to battle, scoring the next two points to tie it at 24-24. Northwood finished the set strong, scoring the final two points to claim the third set 26-24.
- Hillsdale responded in the fourth set by scoring six of the first eight points. The Chargers went up 13-7 before the Timberwolves put together a 7-1 run to make it 14-14. The score remained close as it remained tied at 21-21 late in the set. NU rallied to score four straight points, winning the fourth set 25-21 to force a fifth.
- An intense fifth set saw the Chargers claim a 6-3 lead early. Hillsdale maintained their small lead, finding themselves ahead 12-8. NU took the next two points to get within 12-10 and force a Hillsdale timeout. With HC leading 13-12, the Chargers scored the final two points to claim the fifth set 15-12 and win the match 3-2.

- Brines' 60 assists are the second-most for a player in the history of the GMAC, one short of the record of 61.
