INSIDE THE MATCH

  • The opening set was close early – the first three point lead of the match came with Northwood went up 15-12. That lead came in a stretch where the Timberwolves scored five straight points to take a 17-12 lead. NU led by as many as seven before taking the opener 25-19.
  • After trailing 10-7 early in the second set, Kentucky Wesleyan took the lead in the at 13-12. The Panthers were up 19-16 when the Timberwolves fought back, scoring six of the next seven points to go up 22-20. Northwood eventually took the second 25-22 to earn a 2-0 advantage.
  • NU led 5-2 early in the third before the Panthers came back to tie the score at 6-6.  With Northwood leading 11-10, the Timberwolves started the final key run of the match to close out the sweep. NU scored seven of the next nine points to go up 18-11. Kentucky Wesleyan go no closer than three points the rest of the way, as the Timberwolves took the third 25-20.
