Volleyball Loses 3-0 To Hillsdale In G-MAC Tournament Quarterfinals

SCORE: #2 seed Hillsdale Chargers 3, #7 seed Northwood Timberwolves 0 (25-22, 25-19, 25-14)

RECAP: Volleyball sees its 2022 season come to an end with a  3-0 loss to second-seeded Hillsdale in the quarterfinals of the G-MAC Tournament Thursday (November 10).

INSIDE THE MATCH

• After a close start to the match, Northwood made a run to take a 14-8 lead in the first set. NU appeared to be ready to take the opening set, leading 20-15. But the Chargers responded with a big run, scoring eight straight points to go up 23-20. HC eventually finished off the run by taking set one 25-22.
• The Timberwolves came right back with a fast start in set two, leading 7-1 after eight points. The lead stood at 11-6 when the Chargers responded with another run. HC scored seven of the next nine points to level the score at 13-13. With the score 15-15, Hillsdale went on a 7-1 run to take a 22-17 lead on their way to a 25-19 win and a 2-0 lead.
• After a pair of comeback wins in the opening two sets, Hillsdale took control of the third set early on. The Chargers scored nine of the first 12 points of the set and did not look back. Northwood got within four at 11-7 before HC pushed their advantage to as many as 12. Hillsdale eventually won 25-14 to complete the sweep.
