INSIDE THE MATCH

Both teams made runs in the opening set. A 5-1 push by Northwood made the score 12-8 early, only to see Thomas More score four straight to tie the score at 12. The Timberwolves came right back with seven of the next eight to put the Timberwolves on top 19-13. Northwood eventually finished off the set 25-20 for a 1-0 lead.
The second set proved to be the most competitive of the match. The Saints were up 15-10 when the Timberwolves scored eight straight points to put NU up 18-15. Thomas More did not go away coming back to tie the set at 18-18, 19-19 and 20-20. NU eventually went up 24-21 before the Saints scored five of the next six points to earn a set-point of their own at 26-25. TMU eventually earned three set points but were unable to take the set. Northwood scored the final three points to take the set 31-29 and go up 2-0 in the match.
After taking the second set in dramatic fashion, Northwood set the tone early in the third by scoring six of the first seven points. Later, a 7-1 run pushed the advantage to 17-8. Thomas More got no closer than seven the rest of the set, which was won by Northwood 25-15 to close out the match.
