Volleyball Earns Dramatic 3-2 Road Win Over G-MAC Leader Walsh

RECAP: Northwood volleyball earned a dramatic 3-2 road win over conference leader Walsh Thursday night (November 9).
INSIDE THE MATCH
- Walsh took a 16-11 lead in the opening set. Northwood fought back late in the set, cutting the advantage down to 22-21. The Cavaliers responded with three of the final four points to take the opening set 25-22.
- Northwood started the second set fast, getting out to a 10-6 lead. Walsh bounced back, getting the lead down to one at 11-10. The Timberwolves responded with an 8-2 run to get the lead back to 19-13 on their way to a 25-20 set win and a 1-1 score.
- Walsh was the better team early in the third, taking an 11-5 lead. Northwood responded, eventually tying the score at 13-13. With the score tied 20-20, Northwood put up five of the final six points to take the set 25-21 to take a 2-1 lead.
- The fourth set tied 15-15 and 21-21 when Walsh finished the set strong. The Cavaliers three straight to take a 24-21 lead before winning the set 25-23 to force a deciding fifth set.
- Walsh appeared on their way to taking the match, leading 8-4 in the fifth. Northwood chipped away at the lead but still trailed 13-11 when the Timberwolves finished the match with a run. Northwood scored the final four points of the match to win 15-13 and take the match 3-2.
