Volleyball Drops 3-1 Match To Findlay In G-MAC Tournament Quarterfinals

RECAP: Northwood Volleyball sees its 2023 season come to an end with a 3-1 loss at Findlay Tuesday night (November 14).

INSIDE THE MATCH

  • Findlay held the early advantage in the match, scoring seven of the first 10 points of the first set. The Oilers got their advantage to as many as 13 before taking the first 25-13.
  • It was Northwood that got off to a fast start in the second set, putting up 10 of the first 12 points. NU led 19-10 late in the set when the Oilers made a big run, coming all the way back to get within two at 22-20. Northwood stopped the run, eventually taking the set 25-22 to even the score at 1-1.
  • Northwood scored four of the first five points of the third, but the remainder of the set proved to be very tight. That three-point lead matched the largest of the set for either team. The score was tied 23-23 when the Oilers earned the first of their two set points. The Timberwolves also had set points at 25-24 and 26-25. Findlay put up the final three points of the third to win 28-26 to go up 2-1.
  • Findlay led 6-5 when the Oilers put up a big run to close out the match. UF put up 14 of the next 17 points to go up 20-8. Northwood did score six straight points late to get back within six at 22-16 before Findlay closed out the match 25-17.
