Cross Country Opens Up 2018 Season At Northwood Invitational

LOCATION: Fisher Fields – Midland, Mich.

RECAP: The Northwood University cross country teams opened their 2018 seasons at the Northwood Invitational Saturday (September 1).

INSIDE THE MEET

• The Northwood women were led by senior Mallory Balmert, who won the 5k race in her Northwood debut with a time of 20:50.
• Freshman Katherine Wozniak was the No. 2 runner for the Timberwolves, crossing the line in 21:29.
• Rounding out the Top 3 finishers for NU was Amanda Aquinaga with a time of 21:41.50.
• Pacing the Northwood men in the 5k race was senior Dylan Rocha. His time of 16:12 placed him second overall.
• Freshman Zane Aldrich was the No. 2 runner for Northwood, crossing the line in 16:24 for a third place finish.
• Freshman Parker Hayes completed the course in 16:51 to finish as the No. 3 runner for the Timberwolves.

• Northwood will travel to Grand Rapids Saturday (September 8) to race in the Knight Invitational.
