Men Place Sixth, Women Finish Ninth At GLIAC Cross Country Championships

OVERVIEW – GLIAC Championships

LOCATION: Westville, Ind.

RECAP: The Northwood University cross country teams compete at the 2019 GLIAC Championships Saturday (October 26).

INSIDE THE WOMEN'S RACE (6,000 METERS)

Northwood placed ninth out of 12 teams with 257 points.
Grand Valley State was the overall winner with 17 points, followed by Saginaw Valley (89) and Michigan Tech (92).
A total of 116 runners competed in the race, with Allie Ludge of GVSU winning with a time of 21:23.6.

NORTHWOOD RESULTS:

Lainey Veenkant – 31st: 22:58.3. Personal-best. Eighth fastest 6K performance in program history.
Madison Brooks – 48th: 23:22.7. Personal-best. 11th fastest performance in program history.
Katherine Wozniak – 76th: 24:32.8. Personal-best. 25th fastest performance in program history
Amanda Aquinaga – 85th: 25:04.9.
Amanda Kalkman – 101st: 26:19.6. Personal-best.
Olivia Haring – 105th: 26:41.8. Personal-best

INSIDE THE MEN'S RACE (8,000 METERS)

Northwood also placed sixth out of 11 teams overall with 183 points.
GVSU took home the men's title with 44 points, followed by Michigan Tech (57) and Saginaw Valley (61).
A total of 113 runners competed in the race. Tanner Chada of Grand Valley State placed first overall with a time of 23:55.7..
